Hi from Greece!
I am writing to let you know of my most recent adventure in Europe, which included visits to Athens and the Greek Islands that make up the archipelago of Santorini.
Athens is one of the oldest cities in the world and is located near the southern tip of mainland Greece. It is home to famous ancient monuments such as the Parthenon on the Acropolis. You might just be able to see the Parthenon in the background of one of my holiday snapshots, where I am sitting with
Fiona watching the sunset over Athens from Lykavittos Hill.
The volcanic islands of Santorini are located approximately 200km south east of the Greek mainland in the Aegean Sea, and together they form the southern-most part of the Cyclades
island group. The scenery on these islands is spectacular, with high
cliffs draped with picturesque whitewashed villages, and beaches
covered with smooth black pebbles left over from previous volcanic
eruptions. I have attached two holiday snapshots from the islands – one
from the beach of Kamari and the other looking down towards the island of Nea Kameni from the island’s capital of Fira.
I hope you like the photos and I can’t wait to bring you some more stories from my next trip.
Best wishes
